(This was written in early 2021…for some reason, I never published it)
It’s been a year since I’ve sat down and written anything at all. It’s been a tumultuous two years and we are ALL exhausted from it. The Pandemic has been nothing short of terrible for everyone. We at this point have all either had COVID-19, know someone who has had it, saw someone die from it, or at the very minimum read about it a million times in every news avenue available. I am not here to downplay the severity of it. I saw healthy friends struggling to breathe and people who one day were fine, the next day close their eyes for the final time. There is nothing to laugh at or throw shade at with this virus. However, that is NOT what this is about.
We have chosen not to panic. We have chosen to continue living our lives, with new boundaries and new ideas on how to live, safely. Social Distancing has been a major contributor to keeping us safe. We go to work and to school, but we do what we can to mask up and stay away from others when we can. We wash our hands regularly and sanitize when we can’t. We Lysol and bleach everything. We may still come home tomorrow with the virus, but all we can do is do our best and pray that we will be ok.

As you can probably tell… Social Distancing in the Mountains is our favorite thing to do! We only encountered one other family as they drove by on their side by side! We love this type of social distancing, even before the pandemic. Nothing is better than being out of the public, and in touch with nature! We grilled burgers for lunch and played in the creek. I could’ve stayed there for days.
