Today is Sunday, which for me traditionally has been a day to catch up on everything that I didn’t do last week. I want to change that. I don’t want to be so busy on Sunday that I don’t get the rest that my body and soul so badly needs. I’ve decided to take on the trend of Self Care Sunday. Not that you shouldn’t take your moment every day, I try to find a moment to myself every single day to reflect, but on Sundays when the pace just seems to be slower than the rest of the week, I’m going to begin a self care regimen.
Today I will:
Drink my coffee slowly, and think about all the good things in my life. Plan my week in my organizing planner, to make the flow of the week a little easier. Do something low key and fun with the kids. Watch a movie with my husband, and not be on my phone the whole time. Do a 30 minute at home workout or take a walk if this rainy weather will allow. Put something in the crock pot for dinner so I have more time to do these things and not stand over a stove for an hour. Have a family dinner with no electronics at the kitchen table. Allow myself to breath.
We collectively, often don’t allow ourselves enough time to do the things we need to do to catch our breath. If nothing else, let this be your reminder to take care of yourself. #selfcaresunday
